Social Media Marketing Campaign For a Locksmith Service

A social media marketing strategy made for Northeastern Security

Social Media Marketing

I had the pleasure of working with Northeastern Security on their social media presence. Northeastern Security is a full-service locksmith located in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. In addition to locksmith services, Northeastern Security specializes in safe & vault work, security cameras, access control solutions and automotive work. They pride themselves on professionalism, craftsmanship and quality work. The most challenging aspect of this project was to consider why anyone would follow a locksmith on social media. With much thought, I realized that there are many reasons to do so.

Applying a Content Marketing Strategy

Content marketing is the way to go today because people have woken up and the status quo is no longer effective. This has allowed us to think critically as more than just designers, but as marketers. Additionally, a marketing campaign is more effective by applying either credibility (Ethos), emotional appeal (Pathos) or citing facts (Logos). Bottom line, the more someone can relate to a post that is justified, the more successful it will be.

With that, I created home security tips to be posted as a series based off of the following statistic.

“In the last seven years, Rhode Island has averaged 5,863 breaking and entering burglaries per year” (http://www.risp.ri.gov/stats/)

Many could have been prevented with the proper security implemented. For more than 20 years, Northeastern Security has helped protect homes and businesses from becoming apart of this statistic. With this knowledge, I decided to create mini infographics, or illustrations, containing tips to make your home more secure. This would be posted weekly as a series. Here are the first two mini infographics I created:

Branded “Style Sheet” for Social Posting

It was time to establish social media marketing brand standards. I chose a color palette, fonts, icons and layout of all future social media posts. The color palette was based off of the current website. With these choices, I created a style sheet for quick reference.

Wrapping up

Overall, I gained a lot of knowledge about marketing as a graphic designer. This is a different type of project than I am used to, but it was worth the experience. Feel free to check out more of my projects!
